This is the category where topics that don’t fit in any other categories should go:wink:. Actually, feel free to post any conversation at all in this category. If another category exists that might be more appropriate for your topic, an administrator may move a topic to another category. Also, if there are a few (3-10?) topics which seem to be long lasting and have similar common themes, administrators may create a new category and move your topic there.

Please understand that, under Discourse, categories are a relatively arbitrary demarcation of the forum. Any member will be able to easily find your post, regardless the category. Thus, the General category is always a perfectly fine place to start out a new topic of conversation.

As tiaa-forum.org evolves, administrators may combine, rename or update categories to best structure the forum for current and future conversations and updating new members.
